The time has come for emerging female directors and content creators to make waves in the Australian film and television industry. My latest series Run Club has been given an extra boost with Online Production Funding from Screen Australia in addition to support from Screen Queensland. As a Brisbane film director primarily working in the commercial and music video space, it’s been a delight to make the bold move into writing, directing and producing comedy. Run Club was co-created by my business partner Nikki Brown, and we can proudly say we’re a pair of Australian female filmmakers on the rise. Produced Brisbane production company Motley Content in association with Laughlines AU, Run Club is now live on Instagram.

As a female film producer and director in a male-dominated industry, I’m committed to championing gender equity and respect on set in Brisbane. I choose to walk the walk, by actively creating safer sets, challenging outdated norms, and engaging allies. With a focus on inclusivity and accountability, I’m dedicated to fostering an environment where women in film and TV can thrive across all departments. The work we do now will shape the future of our industry for all.
It's giving Netflix for social media
Co-created with the brilliant Nikki Brown, Run Club is a 5-episode dark comedy series for Instagram Reels. Filmed in 2024, it’s a visually vibrant yet wickedly dark take on the ‘run club’ trend that’s been taking social media by storm. Set in the Brisbane suburbs I’ve called home, Run Club combines my love of comedy with a tongue-in-cheek critique of the Australian housing crisis. Check out a sneak peek on my personal Instagram.
