Screen Australia Online Production Funding

The time has come for emerging female directors and content creators to make waves in the Australian film and television industry. My latest series Run Club has been given an extra boost with Online Production Funding from Screen Australia in addition to support from Screen Queensland. As a Brisbane film director primarily working in the commercial and music video space, it’s been a delight to make the bold move into writing, directing and producing comedy. Run Club was co-created by my business partner Nikki Brown, and we can proudly say we’re a pair of Australian female filmmakers on the rise. Produced Brisbane production company Motley Content in association with Laughlines AU, Run Club will premiere on Instagram this April.

Producer turned director

In 2016, I produced Adele, a short film exploring the struggles of a 14-year-old African-Australian girl torn between her high school life and her family’s traditional expectations. Adele received widespread acclaim, winning Best Live Action Short at the Sydney Film Festival in 2017 and earning Official Selections at Flickerfest and the St Kilda Film Festival that same year. As a female film producer, this project exemplified my passion for telling stories that amplify marginalised voices and address important social issues.

Grace is a director for commercials, campaigns, corporate videos and content, who collaborates with production companies and creative agencies on video productions in Sydney and all around Australia. She is currently based in Brisbane, where she recently wrote and directed a Screen Queensland supported comedy series for Instagram.
