Award-winning filmmaking
In addition to directing, Grace Julia is an award-winning Queensland producer. As the executive producer of production company Motley Content, Grace is a filmmaker whose passion for producing short films has remained strong since the beginning. Throughout Grace’s career as a freelance film producer, she has been especially committed to telling stories that give a voice to the disenfranchised. Her body of work as a film producer has been intentionally diverse and has frequently dealt with challenging topics, from greyhound racing to child marriage. Using her production company Motley Content, Grace partners with other writers, directors and film producers to facilitate the production of important stories. Whether she is self-producing or working with other talented female directors, her priority is taking stories from page to screen. Short filmmaking is a labour of love, and securing funding is an art - one that Grace has perfected her 15 years in the Australian film industry.
